our bed and breakfast getaway!

While we were at Robert and Diane's, Clint and I got the chance to get away for a night alone! It was so nice. We found a bed and breakfast at the last minute in a small town not too far away.

Here's some photos of our room and the rest of the beautiful old house (built in 1843!).

called "The Allison Room"

don't you love that beautiful stained glass window?!

isn't that table set so beautifully?!

one of the roses in the rose garden in front of the house
this rose smelled so good!

hooray for getaways!!

After breakfast, we went back to our room and laid down in that beautiful canopy bed. We had a really good, deep conversation. You know those kind that you have when you just start dating someone - where you talk and talk and talk? It was like that. So sweet!

Then, Clint took a nap and I read the book One Thousand Gifts and wrote in my journal.

After we checked out, we went exploring and antique shopping in the nearby small towns. Then, we had an amazing lunch at a little hole in the wall place. I had chicken and dumplings. They were incredible!!

It was so great to have a little getaway, just the two of us! I am so grateful to Diane and Robert for watching the children so we could have some much needed time to ourselves.

 It was such a blessing!!

  1. Sometimes a night away as a couple is just the thing to refresh and rejuvenate. What a pretty B&B! Thanks for sharing!

  2. That's so pretty. I was praying you would have a lovely lovely time, you deserve it after the stressful last few months!!
