the Word of God

My toddler woke up this morning feeling sick to his stomach. After he got sick, I began to "take action" in the spirit. What I mean is, I started to do what I could to change the atmosphere. I sang a worship song about healing over my little one, I turned on some worship music that has scripture read aloud in it, and I got out my Bible and read Psalm 91 aloud. I can tell you with confidence that things immediately got better. There is power in the Word of God! We can fight off attacks from the enemy with praise, worship and the Word. Even just saying the name of Jesus is very powerful!

I am reminded of a great verse:

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ." ~ II Corinthians 10:3-5

That is so true! As followers of Jesus, we have different weapons than the world does! We also need to remember to make sure our thought life is lining up with what the Word of God says. That is so important! Every day and in every situation we face, we have a choice to make. Are we going to believe what others tell us, or are we going to believe what God tells us in His Word? We can give in to fear, worry, and complaining, or we can choose to hope and believe and speak positively! (I am reminding myself that, too, by the way!)

Here's Psalm 91 for you to read aloud today ~it will do wonders! :) God's Word is truth and His word is LIFE!

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]
2 I will say [
b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge-
10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

PS~ While I was typing this, my toddler asked for more cheerios and juice! He said he was hungry! Praise God! He is healed! :)
